Create your account
In short: Go to app.scinodes.com/signup and sign up with your email and a password of at least 8 characters, or with your Google or Microsoft account. SciNodes signs you in and opens My projects straight away. The same account works in SciVerse, SciNodes Academy and SciNodes Support. For now you sign in to each product separately.
Sign up with email and password
- Go to app.scinodes.com/signup. From the sign-in page, you can also click Create one.
- Under "Create your account", type your Email. An institutional address is a good choice: SciNodes uses its domain to suggest your organization on your profile.
- Type a Password of at least 8 characters.
- Type the same password in Confirm password. If the two don't match, you see "Passwords don't match." and the button stays disabled.
- Click Create account. The button shows "Creating account…" while it works.
SciNodes opens My projects. Next, create your first project.
Sign up with Google or Microsoft
- On the sign-up page, under "or sign up with", click Google or Microsoft.
- A pop-up window opens. Choose your account and approve.
- SciNodes opens My projects.
If no window appears, your browser blocked the pop-up. Allow pop-ups for app.scinodes.com and try again.
You can add a password to a Google or Microsoft account later, so you can also sign in with your email. See Sign in and passwords.
Verify your email
SciNodes doesn't send a verification email when you sign up. To verify your address:
- Click your avatar to open the user menu, then click your name to open Profile.
- Next to your email, which shows Unverified, click Verify email.
- You see "Verification email sent. Check your inbox."
- Open the email and follow the link. It brings you back to your profile, where your email shows Verified.
- Go to app.scinodes.com/login.
- Type your Email and Password, then click Sign in. Or, under "or continue with", click Google or Microsoft.
- SciNodes opens My projects.
Use the same method you signed up with. If you signed up with Google, click Google, even if your Google account uses the same email address.
Reset a forgotten password
- On the sign-in page, click Forgot password?.
- Under "Reset your password", type your account Email and click Send reset link.
- You see "Check your inbox". For privacy, SciNodes shows this message whether or not an account exists for that address.
- Open the email and follow the link to choose a new password. The link expires after a short while. If it has expired, request another.
- Go back to the sign-in page and sign in with your new password.
If you signed up with Google or Microsoft, sign in with that button instead.
One account for every SciNodes product
| Product | Where to sign in | What signing in gives you |
|---|---|---|
| SciNodes app | app.scinodes.com/login | Required for everything |
| SciVerse | Sign in on sciverse.scinodes.com | Optional: every search result, and Add to SciNodes |
| SciNodes Academy | Sign in on academy.scinodes.com | Optional: saved courses and lesson progress |

You can create an account and reset your password only in the SciNodes app. SciVerse and Academy have a sign-in panel but no sign-up or password reset.
