Quick notes
In short: Quick notes are Markdown notes that don't belong to any project. Click Quick Note in the left sidebar to start one. To see them all, click the arrow next to it and choose View Quick Notes. When a note belongs somewhere, use Move to a project.
Write a quick note
- Click Quick Note in the left sidebar. The Quick Note page opens.
- Type a title in the header over "Untitled Note".
- Write in the editor. Use Format, Editor and MD as in any note. See Note editor.
- The note saves automatically. The header shows "Edited time".
- Optional: click Download as Markdown in the header to save a .md file.
See all your quick notes
- Click the arrow next to Quick Note in the left sidebar (Note options).
- Click View Quick Notes. From an open quick note you can also click View all quick notes in the header.
- The list shows each note's name and when it was last edited. Click a note to open it.
- To start another note, click + (New quick note) next to Quick Notes in the header.
Move a quick note into a project
- In the Quick Notes list, click the move icon (Move to a project) on the note's row.
- Pick a project. "It leaves Quick Notes and lives under that project."
- You see "Note moved to the project."
The note now appears in that project's Notes tab, at the top level. It stays private to you. Legacy (archived) projects aren't offered. Click Cancel to close the project list without moving.
Delete a quick note
In the Quick Notes list, click the bin icon (Delete note) on the note's row. The note is deleted right away, with no confirmation step.

Tips
- Use quick notes for ideas you have before a project exists, then move them in.
- Quick notes keep the default note color. Project color settings don't apply to them.
Troubleshooting
- "No projects to move it to yet." You have no active projects. Create a project, then move the note.
- "No quick notes yet." You haven't written any. Click Quick Note to start.
- "Could not reach the server." Check your connection and try again.
- I don't see Quick Note in the sidebar. On your first visit, before you have any projects, the sidebar shows fewer links. Create a project and it appears.
FAQ
Can collaborators see my quick notes?
No. Quick notes are private. After you move one into a shared project, it stays private to you.
Can I move a quick note back out of a project?
No. Once it's in a project, it's managed in that project's Notes tab.
Can I undo deleting a quick note?
No. Deleting from the Quick Notes list is immediate. Download a copy first if you might need it.
