Academy profile and settings
In short: Your Academy profile is at academy.scinodes.com/profile. It isn't linked from the menu, so type the address while signed in. The profile shows your account and learning stats, and Academy settings opens Appearance (theme) and Notifications (emails). Your name, email and password are managed in your SciNodes account, through Manage SciNodes account ↗. Academy saves your email choices but doesn't send these emails yet.
Open your profile
- Sign in to academy.scinodes.com.
- Go to academy.scinodes.com/profile.
The profile shows:

The Account section explains: "Your name, email and password are managed in your SciNodes account and shared across every SciNodes product — Academy reads them rather than keeping its own copy."
Change your name, email or password
- On your Academy profile, click Manage SciNodes account ↗.
- Your SciNodes app profile opens in a new tab. Make the change there.

Open Academy settings
- On your profile, click Academy settings. Or go to academy.scinodes.com/settings.
- The page "Settings" says "Preferences for how Academy looks and what it emails you."
- Click Appearance or Notifications.
Change the theme
- In Settings, click Appearance.
- Under Theme, click Light, Dark or System.
System follows your operating system's light or dark setting and updates when it changes. The Appearance row in Settings shows your current choice.
You can also change the theme without opening Settings:
- Signed in: click your name in the header and choose under Theme.
- Signed out: click Sign in. Theme is at the bottom of the panel.
Your theme is saved in this browser only, so another browser or device may show a different theme.
Choose which emails Academy may send
Academy saves your notification choices, but doesn't send these emails yet.
- In Settings, click Notifications. The page says "Choose which emails Academy may send you. Changes save as you make them."
- Turn each switch on or off:

Your choices save as soon as you change them.
Troubleshooting

FAQ
Why can't I find my profile in the Academy menu?
The profile and Settings aren't linked from the header or menu. Go to academy.scinodes.com/profile while signed in.
How do I change my name in Academy?
Change it in your SciNodes account. Click Manage SciNodes account ↗ on your Academy profile. Academy reads your name from there.
Will Academy email me when a new course is published?
Not yet. Academy saves the New courses setting, but doesn't send these emails yet.
Does my theme follow me to other devices?
No. The theme is saved in each browser separately. Your progress and saved courses do follow you, because they're stored in your SciNodes account.
