SciNodes Academy: free bibliometrics courses
In short: SciNodes Academy (academy.scinodes.com) offers free courses and articles on bibliometrics, research maps and network science. All content is public, so you can read every course, lesson and article without an account. Sign in with your SciNodes account to save courses, mark lessons complete and follow your progress in My learning.
How Academy is organized

Some courses are marked "Coming soon" while they're being prepared. The catalog grows over time, so check Courses for what's available now.
At the time of writing, the catalog includes a track called Biblio with courses such as Bibliometric Analysis, Co-citation Maps, Co-occurrence Maps and Citation Maps, and Network Science Fundamentals marked "Coming soon".
Get around Academy
- Header: Courses and Articles for everyone. When you're signed in, My learning and Saved appear too. Sign in is on the right.
- Home page: a featured course with a button to start it, Browse all courses, and a section for each track with View track →.
- Footer: "Academy is part of SciNodes." with a link to open SciNodes.
Start learning
- Go to academy.scinodes.com.
- Click Courses, or Browse all courses on the home page.
- Click a course card. "Coming soon" courses can't be opened yet.
- Click Start learning to open the first lesson.
- At the end of a lesson, click Mark as complete, then Next lesson →.

Sign in to Academy
- Click Sign in in the header.
- In the "Sign in with SciNodes" panel, type your email and password and click Sign in. Or click Google or Microsoft.
- My learning and Saved appear in the header.
Academy has no sign-up or password reset. Create your account in the SciNodes app. Signing in to Academy doesn't sign you in to the app or SciVerse. One sign-in for every product is planned (coming soon). See Single sign-on.
What Academy doesn't have
- No quizzes, certificates or enrollment.
- No AI features, so Academy doesn't use your SciNodes credits.

Is SciNodes Academy free?
Yes. Every course, lesson and article is free and public. An account is only needed to save courses and track progress.
Do I get a certificate when I finish a course?
No. Academy doesn't offer certificates, quizzes or enrollment. My learning shows the courses and lessons you've completed.
What can I learn in Academy?
Bibliometrics, research mapping and network science, for example courses on bibliometric analysis and co-citation maps. Some courses are still being written. The catalog grows over time, so check Courses for the current list.
How does Academy relate to the SciNodes app?
