Use SciVerse as a guest or signed in
In short: Without an account you can search SciVerse and see the first 8 results of each search, and browse every ranked list, detail page and keyword page. Sign in with your SciNodes account to see every result, 25 per page, and to use Add to SciNodes. Each signed-in search uses a small amount of your weekly SciNodes credit budget. Browsing lists and pages is always free.

When a guest search has more than 8 matches, a card below the results says "Showing 8 of N results" and "Sign in with your SciNodes account to see every match and explore them further."
Sign in to SciVerse
- Click Sign in in the header. Or click Sign in to SciNodes to explore more below your search results.
- The panel "Sign in with SciNodes" opens. It says "Optional — sign in with your SciNodes account."
- Type your email and password and click Sign in. Or, under "or continue with", click Google or Microsoft and finish in the pop-up window.
- Your name appears in the header. Your current search now shows all results.
SciVerse has no sign-up or password reset:
- No account yet? Create your account at app.scinodes.com/signup.
- Forgot your password? Reset it at app.scinodes.com/forgot-password.
Signing in to SciVerse doesn't sign you in to the SciNodes app or Academy. One sign-in for every product is planned (coming soon). See Single sign-on.
How signed-in searches use your credits
SciNodes gives every account one weekly credit budget for AI and search features. In SciVerse:
- Each signed-in search request is charged a small flat amount, before it runs.
- Results refresh as you type, after a short pause. Each refresh is a search. Changing the page, sort, type tab or a filter also runs the search again.
- Free: ranked lists, detail pages, keyword pages, and the type-ahead suggestions in Refine by. Searching by name inside a ranked list counts as a search.
- Refused searches aren't charged. If your budget is spent, the search is refused and costs nothing.
- Failed searches are still charged. A search that fails after it starts isn't refunded.
- Resets weekly on Sunday at 00:00 UTC. Unused credits don't roll over.

When your budget is spent
You see "Your weekly search budget is spent" with "Signed-in searches draw on your SciNodes weekly AI budget, and this week's is used up. Searching resumes date." If no date is available, it says "It resets on Sunday at 00:00 UTC."
Until then, you can still browse ranked lists, detail pages and keyword pages. You can also sign out and search as a guest, with the first 8 results of each search.
Change the theme
SciVerse has Light, Dark and System themes. System follows your device setting.
- Signed in: click your name in the header, then choose under Theme.
- Guest: click Sign in. Theme is at the bottom of the panel. You don't need to sign in to change it.
Your theme is saved in this browser only.
Sign out
- Click your name in the header. The menu shows your name and email.
- Click Sign out.

You're searching as a guest. Sign in with your SciNodes account to see every result, 25 per page.
Does SciVerse cost money?
No. Guest searches and all browsing are free. Signed-in searches use your weekly SciNodes credit budget, which every account gets free each week.
Can I create an account in SciVerse?
No. Create your account in the SciNodes app, then sign in to SciVerse with it.
Does SciVerse remember my searches?
No. SciVerse has no saved searches or search history. Open search tabs last until you reload the page.
