Add SciVerse publications to a SciNodes project

In short: Every publication card in SciVerse has an Add to SciNodes button. Sign in, click it and pick one of your projects. The publication is added to that project's corpus and filed in its "My references" folder, and you see "Added to My references ✓". SciVerse can't create projects, so create the project in the SciNodes app first.

Before you start

Add a publication

  1. Find the publication in SciVerse: in search results, or on an author, organization, journal, conference or keyword page.
  2. Click Add to SciNodes on its card.
  3. The panel "Add to a SciNodes project" opens and shows "Loading your projects…", then your projects.
  4. Click a project. It shows "Adding…", then "Added to My references ✓".
  5. Optional: click another project to add the same publication there too.

To see it, open the project in app.scinodes.com and go to the Library tab.

Find a project in a long list

  1. In the panel, click Search all N projects.
  2. A dialog opens with the publication's title at the top.
  3. Type in "Search by name, lab or focus area…". Every word you type must match.
  4. Each project card shows its title, a "Shared with you" or "Archived" badge where it applies, "Updated …", "N members", its description and research focus.
  5. Click Add on the project you want. The card changes to "Added to My references ✓".
  6. Close the dialog with ✕ or Esc.

What happens in SciNodes

  • The publication joins the project's corpus, so maps and the research assistants can use it.
  • It's filed in the project's "My references" folder. If the project has no such folder, SciNodes creates it.
  • If the publication is already in the project, adding it again doesn't create a duplicate.

See Folders for how "My references" works.

FAQ

Where does a publication from SciVerse go?

Into the chosen project's corpus, and into its "My references" folder. Open the project's Library tab to find it.

Can I add a publication to several projects?

Yes. Click each project in the panel, one after another.

Can I add a whole search result list?

Not from SciVerse. In the SciNodes app, Discover with SciVerse runs the same kind of search and adds up to 500 results by default. See Discover and Suggest.

Can I add publications to a shared project?

Shared projects appear in the list with a "Shared with you" badge. Keep in mind that a Viewer has read-only access to a project. See Collaboration for what each role can do.
