Import from another project

In short: In the Library tab, click Add Publications → Import Existing, pick one of your other projects, then choose Entire corpus, Slice the corpus or Describe the slice. Click Import publications into this corpus. Publications already in this project are skipped, and the source project isn't changed.

Steps

  1. Open the project you want to add publications to and click the Library tab.
  2. Click Add Publications → Import Existing. The page is headed "Reuse publications from another project".
  3. On the left, pick the project to copy from. Use "Search your projects…" to find it.
  4. On the right, under "What to import", choose a mode:
    • Entire corpus: "Copy every publication from this project as-is."
    • Slice the corpus: "Keep only publications matching filters you build — keywords, authors, venues, years, types."
    • Describe the slice: "Say what to keep in your own words; SciNodes AI turns it into filters you can adjust."
  5. For a slice, build the filters or describe what to keep, then check the count, for example "Keeps 120 of 900 publications". See Corpus slices.
  6. Click Import publications into this corpus.

A message confirms it, for example "Imported 120 publications from the slice." The banner "Importing from "project name". Pick another project to import more." lets you repeat the process with another project.

When creating a project

The New Project form has the same option, Import from another project, with the same three modes. Its button reads Import Publications and Create Project. The option only appears if you already have at least one project. See Creating projects.

Copy selected publications instead

To copy a handful of publications rather than a whole corpus or slice, work from the source project: select them in its Library, then click Copy to another project and pick the destination. See Searching and filtering.

FAQ

Does importing move publications out of the other project?

No. They're copied. The source project keeps all its publications.

Are my folders, notes and highlights copied too?

No. Only the publications are added to this project's corpus.

Can I import from a project someone shared with me?

Yes. The list includes all your other projects, including ones shared with you.

Will I get duplicates?

No. Publications already in this corpus are skipped.
