Searching, filtering and selecting

In short: Use the search box at the top of the Library list to find publications, Advanced options to choose which fields to search and how to match, and Filters to narrow by tag, year, author or abstract. Tick publications, or use Shift-click and Ctrl-click, to select many. The panel on the right then offers Cite these N publications, folder filing, Copy to another project and Remove from corpus.

Search the library

  1. Open the project's Library tab.
  2. Type in the search box. The list updates as you type. If a folder is open, only that folder is searched.
  3. To clear the search, click the clear button in the box.

Advanced search options

Click the Advanced configuration button at the right of the search box:

OptionChoices

Change the view

Click the View options button and choose Comfortable or Compact rows.

Each row shows the title, authors, year and journal, plus an Open access or Retracted badge where it applies. If you gave a publication an alias, it appears before the title.

FAQ

Can I search inside abstracts or full text?

The library search covers title, authors, journal, tags and alias. To keep only publications whose title or abstract contains a phrase in a map, use a Title / abstract contains filter in a corpus slice.

Does the library search support AND, OR or quotation marks?

No. Use the advanced options (Match and Search in) to make the search stricter, and Filters to narrow further.

Can I combine the Tags and Date range filters?

Not at the same time. One filter type applies at once, combined with the search box and the open folder.

How do I select every publication in a folder?

Open the folder, select one publication, then click Select all in the panel on the right.
